We recently completed a phase of an on-going excavation in Derbyshire where we revealed a number of interesting archaeological features including possible Neolithic or Bronze Age pit alignments, a Romano British compound, Roman or medieval quarrying, and possible footings for small buildings which are believed to be Romano-British or early medieval in date.

The finds include a pottery assemblage dating from the mid Romano-British period to the 17th century, as well as a number of bronze and flint artefacts. The iron blade of a wooden-bodied spade or shovel was also found in one of the quarry pits.
