In December 2018 archaeologists from ARS Ltd. excavated what is likely to be a Late Iron Age – Early Romano-British shrine. The discovery consists of a large rectangular ditch enclosure with an entrance on the east side which surrounds a centrally located timber post-built shrine structure.
This exciting find is the latest in a long line of multi-period discoveries at the Bedfordshire site ranging from the Neolithic period through to the Vikings. Work is still ongoing at this project where we have been working since 2013. We cannot wait to see what else this rewarding site has in store for us. Make sure to check our Twitter and LinkedIn pages for updates as they come.
