ARS Ltd hosted a visit yesterday from John Whitby, MP for Derbyshire Dales, along with Rob Lennox from the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
The meeting with our Managing Director, Clive Waddington, covered a range of topics, including the stunning archaeology of Derbyshire and several important policy issues. It was great to discuss how archaeology in the region can help create sustainable value for clients and the public as part of growing the economy. Discussing how quarrying makes an important contribution to the region and its archaeology, and explaining how Bakewell was the place ‘where England was made’ c.920 AD, were particular highlights.
