In recent years, the pace of redevelopment of urban industrial sites has vastly increased. These areas are known as 'brownfield' areas and are often the locations of historical industry. There is now a much greater awareness of the importance of Britain's Industrial Heritage and ARS Ltd are a company which researches, records, preserves and presents the variety of this country's industrial past.

ARS Ltd have the experience and capacity to take on all types of industrial archaeology whether it be small industrial areas or large scale excavations of factories and mills. Our company has worked on sites including a 18th century cutlery works at Richardson's Cutlery Site, Sheffield, a 19th century cutlery and steel works at Furnival Square, Sheffield, a 18th century cotton mill at Torrs Mill, New Mills, a late 18th century cotton mill at Scholes Mill, Tansley, a 19th century pottery kiln site at Potworks Barn, Ticknall and an early 19th century brewery at the Medical Sciences site, Newcastle.
