Longstone Local History Group

Longstone Local History Group have a regular programme of events, which are usually held in the local Village Hall on the third Tuesday of each month. They have produced and published a number of booklets on subjects of local interest, including Robert Thornhills 'Longstone Notes', 'Aspects of 19th Century Longstone', and 'Memories of the Second World War'.

The group made a successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund to excavate and record the hillfort, whilst being trained and supervised by professional archaeologists.
