Archaeological Officers/Assistant Project Officers/Project Officers/Project Manager positions available on both permanent and short-term contracts

£19,000 - £27,100 pro rata with generous benefits package dependent on role and experience

Archaeological Research Services Ltd are recruiting Archaeological Officers, Assistant Project Officers, Project Officers and Project Managers for work on a variety of project work around the UK including a large and exciting infrastructure project in Suffolk which will involve numerous excavations. You will be required to have good team-working ability, enthusiasm and drive to complete tasks and contribute to the operational success of the project. Previous archaeological fieldwork experience is required although we are also keen to hear from university students and recent graduates and experienced post-excavation project officers and managers. For the Archaeological Officer posts experience gained through voluntary work will also be acceptable and we have space for a limited number of trainees. A valid CSCS cards is required. If you do not have a CSCS card then we may be able to assist you in gaining an equivalent health and safety certificate – please speak to our Senior Projects Manager for further information (Tel. 01629 814540). Contracts will be field-based initially and offered on either a permanent or fixed-term basis depending on the applicant’s availability and the need for all of our permanent staff to be able to be flexible and work on projects where required, unless it is a specifically office-based role.   • A current and valid CSCS card

Aerial Photograph Interpreter (Assistant Project Officer Level)

£23,000 pro rata with generous benefits package

The post is tenable with immediate effect, and subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, will become a permanent position thereafter. The position is based in York working within the offices of Historic England but as an employee of Archaeological Research Services Ltd. Applications are invited for highly motivated and professional individual with experience of mapping archaeological features from aerial photographs, as well as other sources of remote sensing data such as Lidar and Google Earth, and has the ability to work to deadlines, produce accurate and concise records and succinct reports. You must have excellent written and oral English skills together with strong IT skills and ideally have proven experience in the use of CAD and/or GIS and the aerial photograph mapping software Aerial. We are excited to hear from anyone who fulfils these criteria. We are looking for hard working and dependable individuals with a practical approach who can be trusted to follow instructions and deliver projects under their own initiative.
